Terror Suspect Lockdown Interieur-Study

Sein jüngstes Projekt „Control Order House“ ist eine „top-to-bottom survey of a three-bedroomed residence in which a pre-trial, UK terror suspect lives under house arrest“.
Control Order House is the only existing photographic study of a residence occupied by a person under a UK control order. It is not an exposé, however. Given the legal sensitivities, every image was vetted by UK government officials. Clark was not allowed to reveal the identity of the terror suspect — referred to in legal documents as “CE” — nor his location.
“To reveal CE’s identity would be an offence and in breach of the court-imposed anonymity order,” says Clark. “All the photographs I took or the documents I wanted to use had to be screened by the Home Office.”
Strategically, Clark has decided to release Control House Order as a book. In addition to redacted legal documents, handwritten notes from CE and architectural plans of the house, the book reproduces contact sheets of all 500+ images made in the house and presents them in the order they were made.

Vintage golden Skeleton-Actionfigure in a Silver-Sarcophagus

The fully articulated human skeleton in a velvet-lined coffin chased around on each side with three panels showing the course of life, one end with attributes of the arts, the other with attributes of war, the removable cover with the journey in the footsteps of the Angel of Death, surrounded by the faces of infants alternately laughing and crying…

Cuisine with Marijuana and Magic Truffles
Youtube Direktmagic, danke Philip!
“It’s haute cuisine, Amsterdam style: using every street-legal drug you can imagine. From well-known marijuana to more esoteric buzzes,” explains Rickard Engstrom , who (with his creative partner Joris Kang ‘eri) was responsible for the idea. “Chef Misha will show you how to make truly mind-blowing, beautiful food,” says Jesse Smit , CEO of FreshCotton. “And in return for a Tweet you can download a recipe book for your tablet or to print.”
The project showcases a selection of Amsterdam talent working together– the films were directed by Doug Hancock through Darlings Amsterdam; the digital execution was done by highly-regarded interactive studio Cartelle; and the music was provided by Full Crate, a producer who fuses hip-hop and soul with a futuristic sound design. Neil Henry , of Arnold Amsterdam produced the campaign.
Weitere Rezepte aus dem Kochbuch: „Marijuana chicken rolls with Hashish quenelles and a Marijuana coulis“, „A raspberry-Marijuana bombe coated in Hashish chocolate with Morning Glory and Magic Truffles“ oder „Foie gras Marijuana lollipops coated in Magic Truffles, almonds and pistachio nuts“. MARIJUANA LOLLIPOPS! ZOMG!

PBS Minidoc about Photoshopping
Photoshop has completely revolutionized our visual culture. Artists now use Photoshop to create complex imagery that would have been impossible 20 years ago. It has also profoundly changed the art of photo retouching, turning a labor intensive process into an artful and often controversial digital workflow. But possibly the most current and expressive influence can be seen in meme culture online. With the ability to alter any image in the media landscape, everyday people now have the means to critically comment on culture and spread their ideas virally, leveling the playing field between traditional media creators and consumers. Photoshop has changed the way we communicate, the way we express ourselves, and the way we view the world and each other.

Keng Lyes 3D-painted Octopus

(via My Modern Metropolis)
Russ Meyer x Star Wars-Actionfigures

Neue Custom Actionfigures von Jamie „Sillof“ Follis, ein Toy-Mashup aus Russ Meyer und Star Wars. Whoa!
It’s the Star Wars universe as interpreted by Russ Meyer. Busty, pneumatic amazons in all of the male roles, with one Li’l Abner-stlye lunkhead in the Princess Leia role. Cars and liquor and 60’s-style garage rock. And, except for a couple of names and character ideas (I came up with “Darla Vade” and insisted she be modeled after the immortal Tura Satana) Sillof came up with the whole story, and all of the other characters. A film buff as well as a craftsman, this man.
What’s bittersweet about the whole thing is, Roger Ebert never got to see these. I turned him on to Sillof’s site last year. He especially loved the Noir Wars figures.
And I sent him the title logo of this set as a tease just a few months ago. As someone who’d worked with Russ Meyer (Ebert was going to write the collaboration between Meyer and the fucking Sex Pistols, fer chrissakes) he was more than intrigued. But I never rush an artist, whether they’re going a poster or album cover or especially something like this.
So this set’s for you, Roger.

Skateboards made from old Skateboards
As plywood decks became the norm, manufacturers began to color layers to add a visual element. Strips of red, blue, yellow, pink or various combinations could be found between the light hues of natural wood, with splashy graphics on the board’s bottoms and black grip tape on top, sometimes cut into artistic patterns.
Rocha assembles new decks using the remnants of broken and discarded skateboards, laminating them together and slicing the resulting stack sideways to create his material. The result is gorgeous and always unique, turning the distinct patterning of the thin multicolored ply into the standout feature of the decks’ tops and bottoms.

Google Streetview Hyperlapse
Vimeo Direktlapse, via Interweb3000
Hyper-lapse photography – a technique combining time-lapse and sweeping camera movements typically focused on a point-of-interest – has been a growing trend on video sites. It’s not hard to find stunning examples on Vimeo. Creating them requires precision and many hours stitching together photos taken from carefully mapped locations. We aimed at making the process simpler by using Google Street View as an aid, but quickly discovered that it could be used as the source material. It worked so well, we decided to design a very usable UI around our engine and release Google Street View Hyperlapse.
The site settings are purposely low (like having a maximum of 60 frames per animation) for greater accessibility. However, all the source code is available on Github (including examples and documentation) so developers can play with higher frame rates, better image quality, and more complicated camera movements.
