Blade Runner remastered Soundtrack on Red Vinyl

Audio Fidelity veröffentlichen dieser Tage einen remasterten Soundtrack von Blade Runner auf rotem Vinyl. Das Teil ist der Original-Soundtrack und nicht das nachgespielte Dings von 1982.
The movie remains a classic film with a long list of popular movie stars including Harrison Ford, Daryl Hannah, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos most of whom appear on this record in movie dialog samples mixed into the 12 tracks of nearly one hour of music. Vangelis makes each track flow into one another. The soundtrack features vocal contributions from Demis Roussos and the sax solo by Dick Morrissey on “Love Theme.” The gatefold jacket includes many colorful stills from the film. Blade Runner is a timeless classic film and now on 180g translucent red vinyl.

Daft Punk Interview + Pharrell + Get Lucky
Daft Punk haben mit dem Rolling Stone über das neue Album geredet, oben der neue Collab-Clip vom Creators Project mit Pharrell und hier noch ein Clip mit Fashionkram von Hedi Slimane/YSL. Der Daft Punk-Craze geht mir ja jetzt schon ein bisschen auf den Zeiger und „Get Lucky“ halte ich jetzt auch nicht für den Über-Burner, aber an Daft Punk wird man in diesem Sommer sicher nicht vorbeikommen. Apropos Lucky, die erste Single We rub a mexican Monkey ist wohl bereits in der Soundcloud:
The album’s move away from computerized sounds reflects Daft Punk’s “ambivalence” about the EDM craze they helped to inspire. “Electronic music right now is in its comfort zone and it’s not moving one inch,” Thomas says. “That’s not what artists are supposed to do.” He adds that the genre is suffering “an identity crisis: You hear a song, whose track is it? There’s no signature. Skrillex has been successful because he has a recognizable sound: You hear a dubstep song, even if it’s not him, you think it’s him.”
Keep an eye on those Saturday Night Live commercial breaks. So far, Daft Punk have debuted two fifteen-second chunks of “Get Lucky” in ads that play during Saturday Night Live, incrementally revealing more of the song. Along with billboards advertising the album, these TV ads represent a throwback impulse that’s guiding the new album’s roll-out.

Daft Punk hatten gestern vor dem Auftritt der Yeah Yeah Yeahs ein Album-Preview-Ad mit dem Track „Get Lucky“ feat. Pharrell auf den Displays des Festivals laufen, hier die Bootleg-Version. Live-Streams vom Festival laufen auch hierzulande, ich hab’ sie hier eingebettet, auf Facebook hatte ich einen netten Screenshot vom „blut“verschmierten Jello „Dead Kennedys“ Biafra gepostet.

Das Coachella wird auch 2013 wieder live auf Youtube gestreamt und wahrscheinlich auch dieses Jahr nicht bei uns, weil wegen Bullshit. Da sind einige Must Watches am Start, heute spielen die Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grinderman, Violent Femmes, Blur, Japandroids und die The Stone Roses (!), morgen Hot Chip und New Order, am Sonntag unter anderem Dinosaur Jr., OMD und Franz Ferdinand. Da geht einiges.

Tolle neue Folge von HR2 Wissenswert über die Meilensteine der Popmusik, diesmal über Talking Heads’ „Psychokiller“ (MP3): „Ein Song – kaum in den Charts, aber mit Langzeitwirkung, weil er in zahlreichen Filmen verwendet wurde – Teil der amerikanischen popculture.“

CBGB – The Movie
Randall Miller arbeitet derzeit an einem Film über’s CBGB mit Alan Rickman als Besitzer Hilly Kristal. Außerdem noch dabei: Johnny Galecki als Manager der Band Television, Rupert „Ron Weasley“ Grint als Gitarrist Cheetah Chrome, Malin Akerman als Debbie Harry, Kyle Gallner als Lou Reed, Joel David Moore als Joey Ramone und Foo Fighters-Drummer Taylor Hawkins als Iggy Pop. Dürfte ziemlich unterhaltsam werden, ich bin gespannt.
Sobalds den Trailer gibt, werde ich den hier selbstredend posten, bislang gibt’s nur ein paar Poster und Stills: Grün: Stiv Bators (The Dead Boys, The Lords of the New Church), Pink: Patti Smith, Cyan: Joey Ramone, Magenta: Blondie.
CBGB tells the story of New York’s punk scene through the lens of the fabled CBGB night club. The club, which closed in 2008, was owned by Hilly Kristal (played by Alan Rickman in the film), who launched it in the 1970s. After he shifted the focus of the club away from country, bluegrass and blues in favor of local acts, CBGB became the early stomping grounds for artists such as Smith, Blondie, Talking Heads, and the Ramones.
Randall Miller directed the film and co-wrote the script with Jody Savin. The film’s cast includes Malin Akerman, Ashley Greene, Johnny Galecki, Joel David Moore, Stana Katic, Rupert Grint and Taylor Hawkins. The film contains 50 songs and 16 on-camera performance, according to its producers.
