Das Science Museum in London hat ein Gipsmodel des abgetrennten Kopfes eines hingerichteten chinesischen Piraten, die Haare sind Menschenhaare.
This model head is reportedly an executed Chinese Yangstze river pirate. It is made of plaster. The long ponytail is real human hair. It is particularly gruesome because it depicts the head in great anatomical detail. Arteries, veins and spinal cord are accurately modelled across the severed neck. The head also has its own bloodstained carrying box. The origins and purpose of the model are uncertain. It was possibly used in an exhibition because it was made in England early in the last century.

Alyssa von Sup Cakes hat diese Ohren-Auf-Der-Grünen-Wiese-Cupcakes aus David Lynchs Blue Velvet gemacht, Miss Cakehead verkauft auch ein bisschen Lynch-Gebäck und Dangerous Minds haben noch ein paar Ohren-Cupcakes gefunden, die aber nicht ganz so toll aussehen und von denen ich nicht rausfinden konnte, wer sie gemacht hat.

When border police discovered fresh scars and blood-stained gauze on the woman’s chest she was taken to a nearby hospital to check her claim that she had recently undergone breast implant surgery.
The implants were found to carry 1.38 kg of cocaine.
Developing a working Auto-Detection for Penis-Drawings
Für ihr Wii U Miiverse Social Network musste Nintendo eine Auto-Detection für Penis-Zeichnungen entwickeln, damit die Plattform halbwegs jugendfrei bleibt und in einem Interview erzählen die Entwickler von den Hürden in Form von Penisbilder-Studien, die die Entwickler nehmen mussten. Ist wie ‘ne Pimmelstudie für Coder. Hilarious!
Kato: Kurisu-san suggested we study different types of penises in order to create figure out the relative shape and size people would draw. We spent a week doing that before we realized that we should have been looking at drawings of penises rather than real-life pictures. (laughs) We were very embarrassed about that.
Kurisu: My judgement on these types of situations is poor. (laughs)
Motoyama: After a week, we made very good progress on the system. Then we tested the system with Nintendo of America and told them to start drawing. It went horribly.
Kurisu: What we learned is that people enjoy drawing penises. Multiple ones. (laughs) The system was not prepared to handle that.

The shoes soles are decked out with over 500 denture teeth and remind one of Meret Oppenheim Objects in their subversive skewered surrealism. The shoes were chosen for their style and reflect aspects of the political philosophy (“survival of the fittest”) of Herbert Spencer’s Social Darwinism.

Schickes Timelapse-Video vom Museum für Naturkunde in London mit fleischfressenden Käfern, die einen toten Papagei (und ‘ne Eule und einen Fasan) verspeisen. Die Viecher konnten natürlich nicht wissen, dass der Papagei nicht tot ist. Jedenfalls: Das Museum hat hier noch ein weiteres Papageien-Video und eine Webcam, mit der man den fleischfressenden Käfern beim Futtern zuschauen kann, leider nur als Windows Media Crap, ich kann daher nicht sagen, ob die grade irgendwas auseinandernehmen. Fuck yeah Science und guten Appetit!
Scientists sometimes use strong chemicals to strip the flesh off skeletons they want to study. But these can eat into the bones and change their structure. So instead, we use a special beetle species, Dermestes haemarrhoidalis, that strips off the flesh but leaves the bones and collagen untouched.
The beetles don’t eat feathers, so usually specimens are skinned first, to speed up the process. Here, the feathers were left on, to show how the skull of the scarlet macaw, Ara macao, sits underneath its skin. The impressive size of the lower jaw reflects the massive strength of the parrot’s beak.

Zum ersten April hatte die Wynkoop Brewing Company aus Denver mit der Idee „Bier aus Bullenklöten“ herumgesponnen und obiges Video ins Netz gestellt. Und jetzt haben’se das Bier tatsächlich gebraut.
Eine meiner Lieblingsfolgen der Late Late Show mit Craig Ferguson war übrigens die mit Dr. Mehmet Oz und darin die Stelle, als sich die Herren über Hoden unterhalten (in diesem YT-Clip ab Minute 11:30) und warum die so geformt sind, wie so geformt sind, warum sie meistens unterschiedlich hoch hängen und dass das alt-aztekische Wort für Eier „Avocados“ lautet. Wie auch immer… jedenfalls: Gerstensaft mit Gemächt vom Rind. Yummy!
The beer is made with Colorado-grown base malts, roasted barley, seven specialty malts (including special B and smoked malt) and Styrian Goldings hops. The beer gets a small dose of sea salt, too. “It gives the beer an extra layer of Rocky Mountain oyster flavor,” Brown notes, “and additional texture.” The 8-barrel batch also included 25 pounds of bull testicles that were sliced by hand and then roasted (by Wynkoop sous chef Andrew Langlo) before being added to the beer’s mash.
So how does it taste? Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout is an assertive foreign-style stout, slightly viscous, with a deep brown color. It has equally deep flavors of chocolate syrup, Kahlua, and espresso, along with a palpable level of alcohol and a savory umami-like note.It finishes dry and roasted with a fast-fading hop bite. The beer is 7% ABV and has 3 BPBs. That’s balls per barrel.
