Vatican is worried about Batman
Ansage vom Vatikan: „Holy switcheroo! Batman has grown bitter, more vengeful with the years“. Bei AP machte man sich bereits sorgen, ob die Website gehackt worden wäre:
One of the Vatican’s main Twitter accounts and the website of its communications office were running stories about Batman on Thursday with the headline “Holy Switcheroo!” — raising concerns they might have been hacked. But two Vatican officials said the site hadn’t been hacked, and that the reason for the unusual posting was an “internal system failure” due to a non-native English speaker posting the story on the website.
The story was from the Catholic News Service. It has as its headline: “Holy Switcheroo! Batman has grown bitter, more vengeful with the years” and details the evolution of the Batman comic franchise.

The Batman of Bradford
In Bradfort kam dann vor ein paar Tagen Batman bei der Polizei vorbei, hat einen Einbrecher abgegeben und ist in die Nacht verschwunden.
A mystery man dressed as Batman demonstrated the same crime-fighting skills as the caped crusader when he handed over a suspect wanted for burglary in Britain.
Closed-circuit television footage showed a portly figure wearing an ill-fitting costume including gloves, cape and mask, bringing a 27-year-old man to a police station in Bradford in northern England. The suspect was arrested and charged with handling stolen goods and fraud-related offences, said the force. But the costumed crime-fighter disappeared into the night without leaving his name.

Schöne einstündige Doku über Superhelden in alten Fernsehserien vom Superman-Serial aus den 50s (die ich neulich erst komplett angesehen habe) über den obligatorischen 60s-Batman Adam West und den 70s-Hulk bis in die 80er.
They put on a costume to save lives and entertain a nation. They fought villains, rescued the innocent and became role models to viewers of every age. The superheroes of television lived so vividly in the public’s mind, that the actors would be defined by their larger-than-life portrayals. “I will never have a character that is that memorable. Very few actors have a character that is seared in to people’s minds.” said Lynda Carter of her starring role in “Wonder Woman.”
5 Years ago: The Amazing Adventures of Little Batman
Heute vor fünf Jahren bloggte ich den halbstündigen Fanfilm „The Amazing Adventures of Little Batman“ von Joe Valenti und seinen Kids, ein paar Monate bevor Michel Gondry mit „Be kind, rewind“ ‘ne ganze Welle von Sweded-Movies auslöste.
This fan film is based on the 1966 Batman TV series where a very young Bruce Wayne takes on the famous, pint-sized villains of Gotham City. Directed, shot and edited by Joe Valenti of Valenti Vision Films and Produced by Jordan Wachtell.

Das Auktionshaus Barrett-Jackson in Arizona versteigert am 19. Januar 2013 DAS Batmobile. Das Original, das einzig wahre, in dem Adam West mit seinem Bat-Hintern über die Polster geschubbert ist. Yep, this is it!
Und es wird noch besser: Das Teil kommt mit allen damals für die Serie eingebauten Bat-Features, unter anderem „a nose-mounted aluminum Cable Cutter Blade, Bat Ray Projector, Anti-Theft Device, Detect-a-scope, Batscope, Bat Eye Switch, Antenna Activator, Police Band Cut-In Switch, Automatic Tire Inflation Device, Remote Batcomputer, the Batphone, Emergency Bat Turn Lever, Anti-Fire Activator, Bat Smoke, Bat Photoscope“ UND sogar den Bat-Turn-Fallschirmen, die Batman damals für U-Turns benutzte. Holy Crap, Batman!
