Bill Gates und Paul Allen haben ein 1981er Microsoft-Foto nochmal schießen lassen, komplett mit den ollen Rechnern von damals. Nice! Das Foto entstand auf einer Feier des Living Computer Museums in Seattle.
In a 1981 publicity shot for the then virtually unknown software company, a very young-looking 26 year-old Bill Gates slouches next to a bearded Paul Allen, who looks every one of his 28 years and then some.
Back then Microsoft had just reincorporated as Microsoft Inc. based in Washington State – away from its New Mexican roots – with Gates as president/CEO and Allen taking the executive vice president role, while Steve Ballmer was a pushy four-month employee who had been to college with Bill for a while.

Das spannendste an Bill Gates’ AMA (Ask Me Anything) auf Reddit gestern abend war wahrscheinlich das 80″-Touchscreen-Tablet mit Windows 8, ansonsten muss man das Ding natürlich als Promo-Aktion für das gestern gelaunchte Windows Surface Pro bewerten, vor allem angesichts der insgesamt doch eher banalen Antworten („Cheap Cheeseburgers, Kids“). Well played, Mr. Gates.
Wie auch immer: Ich hätte gerne so ein 80″-Tablet. Und das Reddit-AMA mit Bill Gates gibt’s hier in komprimierter Form.

In dieser Anzeige für Apple trägt Bill Gates ein Macintosh-Poloshirt (uuuh!) und empfiehlt den Mac: „To create a new standard takes something that’s not just a little bit different. It takes something that’s really new and captures peoples imaginations. Macintosh meets that standard.“
Und weil er den Mac so super fand, hat er nach dem Fotoshooting die Windows geklaut. Der Sack!
