Hypertext Remix is a browser-sequencer created by Lara Warman and Kellyn Loehr. The system generates systems sounds when the browser hits the edge of the screen. The speed of each box is set by the scroll bar and the sounds that are generated are all from the OS.

Destroy the Web: Website-Shoot’em Up-Plugin
Mit dem Plugin „Destroy the Web“ für Firefox 3.5 verwandelt man jede Website in ein Shoot’em-Up-Game und man muss jedes Element der Website abballern, hat dafür aber nur begrenzt Zeit. Tricky: Man muss dabei die Reihenfolge der eingeschlossenen HTML-Elemente einhalten, die oberste Ebene zu beginn, ein Container-DIV oder sowas zum Schluß.

Oil Spill Firefox-Plugin
Das Plugin lies sich bei meiner Firefox-Version (3.5.9) zwar nicht installieren, aber die Idee ist super: Es schwärzt alle Nennungen von BP und ein paar Varianten und lässt da schwarze Soße runterlaufen. Solche Dinge passieren grade übrigens auch im echten Leben: Junk Shot.

Chrome-Comic Remixes
Das war sowas von klar: zwei Tage ist der Google-Browser da (hat den jemand getestet? Ich hab’ hier nur’n Mac, nachdem ich meinem Paps meinen ollen PC-Laptop geschenkt habe), drei Tage ist die Ankündigung in Form eines Comics alt, da kommen jetzt also die Remixe davon. Valleywag hat alle Links.

Retrogame per JavaScript im Favicon zocken
Ich habe grade Defender gespielt. Im Browser, im Favicon. Whooohoo! Läuft allerdings nicht in Internet Explorer und Safari.
DEFENDER of the favicon was done in 3 nights, from start to finish. Each frame of the game is generated on the fly in JavaScript into a 16×16 canvas element, then converted to a 32bits PNG image and used in place of the favicon. The core of the game act as a state machine. Notice a few details such as the pause when this window is not focused, and the resuming and game over transitions.
Obviously since this little game makes use of canvas and the toDataURL method, it does not work in Internet Explorer, and Safari does not seem to support PNG favicons. Prefer Opera or FireFox, although FireFox 3 suffers from garbage collection hick ups when playing in the favicon.
