How To make Rainbow-Pasta

Regenbogen-Pasta, yay!

Add about 20 drops of each food coloring and 2 tablespoons water to Ziplock bags. When the pasta is done, drain it in a strainer and immediately run cold water over it to halt the cooking. Transfer the pasta, portioning it as you go, into the bags of food coloring. Seal the bags, and mix the pasta and food coloring until well-combined. Let each bag sit for at least a minute.

Holi: Festival of Colors 2013

Holi is celebrated widely across India, but it is more popular in the north of the country. The epicenter of all the action is in a triangle of villages around the city of Mathura – the fun begins at Barsana, then moves to Nandgaon, Vrindavan, and Dauji before finally finishing a week of rolling celebrations in the region where the Hindu god Krishna and his consort Radha are thought to have been born and lived. It’s a festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, but in this region it also has special significance as it celebrates the story of Radha and Krishna and their love for each other.

The enthusiasm of the people is unmatched – the energy combined with sheer numbers make for fantastic scenes drenched in water and color. It makes for delicious pictures. But I have to admit, after having covered it for the first time, it’s harder than it looks to get a great picture. Keeping your equipment dry and operational is a big challenge.

Activists troll Westboro Baptist Church with a Gay Pride-Rainbow-House

“I’ve been accused in the past of being all over the place, and they’re probably right on some level,” Jackson told me last night by phone. “Right now we are standing up to bigotry and promoting equality.”

So while considering the Westboro Baptist Church, he began dinking around on Google Maps late one night. He pulled up the church, at 3701 SW 12th St. in Topeka, and took a virtual walk around the block. In the front yard of a house across the street, he noticed a For Sale sign.

“It hit me right away,” Jackson told me last night by phone. “Huh. That would be interesting to own a house across from the Westboro Baptist Church and turn it into something.’ And then, within five seconds: ‘And I’ll paint it the color of the pride flag.’ Perfect.”

Foodcolored Shit

Gabriel Morais hat seine Kacke gefärbt. Dafür hat er 4,5 Kilo Rüben, 3,5 Kilo Fuit Loops und 4 Kilo Mais gegessen. Yep.

The idea behind this project, is to show how much the food we ingest affects our body,
therefore the colour of each poop was not manipulated on photoshop.

To achieve the result, the quantity I ate for each picture was:

4.5kg of beet root in 36 hours.
3.5kg of Froot Loops in 30 hours.
4kg of sweet corn in 36 hours.

First Pic from Mars on TV

 Vimeo Direktmars

Vintage analoge Datenvisualisierung from Space, quasi.

This image represents the first view of another planet from a vantage point in space. It was taken on July 15th, 1965, when the space probe Mariner 4 flew by only 6,118 miles from the surface of Mars. Before this image the most sophisticated, high res image of Mars was this image by Percival Lowell from the late 1800′s. […]

After a few variations, it seemed most efficient to print out the digits and color over them based upon how bright each pixel was. So Mr. Grumm went to a local art store and asked for a set of chalk with different shades of gray. The art store replied that they “did not sell chalk” […], but they did have colored pastels. Richard did not want to spend a lot of time arguing with them, so he bought the pastels (actual pastels seen [besides]), had the 1’s and 0’s printed out on ticker tape about 3in wide, and his team colored them by their brightness level.

HTML thinks, Chuck Norris is a Color and Crap is brown

<body bgcolor=”chucknorris”> test </body>

Weitere Celebs mit HTML-Colorcodes: „OprahWinfrey is blue, MrT is Black, while BarackObama is a faded green color“.

Superhot Pink for Australia

It’s Pink.

Extreme heat in Australia forced the government’s weather bureau to upgrade its temperature scale, with new colours on the climate map to reflect new highs forecast next week. Central Australia was shown with a purple area on the latest Bureau of Meteorology forecast map issued for next Monday, a new colour code suggesting temperatures will soar above 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit).

The bureau’s head of climate monitoring and prediction David Jones said the new scale, which also features a pink code for temperatures from 52 to 54 degrees, reflected the potential for old heat records to be smashed. “The scale has just been increased today and I would anticipate it is because the forecast coming from the bureau’s model is showing temperatures in excess of 50 degrees,” Jones told Fairfax newspapers.

Colored Pigeons

Schicke Arbeit!

To coincide with this year’s Venice Biennale, Berlin-based artists Julius von Bismarck and Julian Charriere decided to dye 35 of the local pigeons to give them a new life as beautiful tropical birds. To do this, a special (animal friendly) “Pigeon Apparatus” was assembled which featured a conveyor belt mechanism to take the bird inside where they were automatically sprayed with non-harmful dyes. Once dyed a randomly selected assortment of bright colours, the bird was released once again to mingle with the other (now rather dull looking) pigeons in the wild.

RGB Color Space Atlas

american artist tauba auerbach presents the 8 x 8 x 8-inch hard-back cubes illustrating the RGB color scheme in a page-by-page medium. a digital offset print on paper with airbrushed cloth cover and book edges create a colorful reference volume of all the colors in existence. the special binding was co-designed by the artist herself in collaboration with daniel e. kelm, and were printed at wide awake garage, an independent bookbinder, with help from leah hughes.

Bomb Squad Streetart-Viral in Israel

 Youtube Direktpaintbomb, via Urban Artcore
