Ueli Alder shoppt Explosionen in Landschaftsaufnahmen, weil irgendwas mit Videogames. Ich unterstelle aber ein einfaches und sehr verständliches Interesse an Kaboom, weil awesome. Aber was weiß ich schon.
Artist Ueli Alder, who gets his inspiration from war-themed video games, is interested in the romantic nature of these images and how we will, in the future, react to images of real explosions when we are used to being exposed to such extravagant falsity in the games.

Einerseits: Schöne Idee, einen Rucksack mit Sprühdosen zu füllen und dann von einem Bombenräumkommando sprengen zu lassen. Andererseits: So ‘ne Aktion als Viral in Israel wirkt auf ‘ne eher dämliche Art provokativ (siehe auch die etwas dümmliche Lache des Kameratyps), sehr deplatziert und alles andere als witzig. Aber Aufmerksamkeit dürfte ihnen hiermit ziemlich sicher sein.

This Series recontextualizes a legacy of atomic tests in order to keep the reality of our post-atomic era fresh and omnipresent. It also speaks to the current state of the world and the voyeuristic culture we live in. Imagine if the advent of the atomic era occurred during today’s information age. Tourists would gather to view bomb tests, at the “safe” distances used in the 1950′s, and share the resulting cell phone photos online.

In diesem Sinne: Fullscreen, Sound aufdrehen und einmal kräftig die Kinnlade auf den Schreibtisch knallen lassen.

Copenhagen Suborbitals ist ein privates Projekt, das für grade mal 50.000 Euro einen Menschen mit einer Art Mini-Rakete ins All schießen will. Aber eigentlich geht’s mir grade nur um Feuer und Rauch und Raketen und Fauch und Slowmotion und Rocketporn und sowas.
