KFC Smuggling-Service of Gaza

For six years, Rafat Shororo longed for the taste of a KFC sandwich he had eaten in Egypt. This week, he got his finger lickin’ fix at home in the Gaza Strip after a local delivery company managed to smuggle it from Egypt through underground tunnels.

The al-Yamama company advertises its unorthodox new fast-food smuggling service on Facebook. It gets tens of orders a week for KFC meals despite having to triple the price to 100 shekels ($30) to cover transportation and smuggling fees. The deliveries go from the fryers at the Al-Arish KFC joint 35 miles away to customers’ doorsteps in about three hours.

Chris Woods’ Consumerism-Artworks

(via Mashculture)

Ramen Burgers from Japan

Fast food chain Lotteria in Japan is teaming up with famous ramen chain Menya Musashi to bring you the Menya Musashi Ramen Burger: a seasoned, lightly charred ramen patty, stewed barbecue pork (chashu), and mayo on a burger bun. This carb-laden sandwich will be available for a limited time from May 20 to mid-June for ¥‎634 (about $6.40) and comes with a side of bonito-flavored soup. The name Musashi refers to the legendary samurai but is also shorthand for the number 634, hence the price.

Pizza Hut, the Perfume

This all came about, in typical chain fashion, when the Pizza Hut canucks wanted to have a little fun with a social media marketing boost. According to theglobeandmail.com it happened like this:

It all started in August, when the social media management team at Yum Brands’ ad agency in Canada, Grip Limited, posted on the chain’sFacebook page about a hypothetical scent, to have some fun with fans in the social media space. Nearly 2,000 people engaged with the post, either by opening the picture, clicking “like,” sharing it on their own pages, or posting a comment. The agency saw an opportunity. They called an aromachologist. Pizza Hut perfume was born.

Sauce-Injected McNuggets

Sometimes life presents you with opportunities that are simultaneously utterly ridiculous but simply too good to pass up on. Case in point: What do you do when you have a buttload of leftover McNuggets and sauce from McDonalds sitting on your desk right next to a plastic syringe?*

*don’t ask what the nuggets and syringe were doing there in the first palce.

You inject the nuggets with sauce, of course.

Hm.
