Toller Teaser für den kommenden B-Movie-Schlock Frogz Legz. Eins meiner Lieblings-Horrorhörspiele ist ja „Konga, der Menschenfrosch“ aus Larry Brents Macabros-Serie und ich weiß noch genau, wie ich mit 12 oder 13 so dermaßen enttäuscht vom Film „Frogs“ (Trailer, hier komplett auf YT) war, weil es da eben nicht um mutierte Riesenfrösche ging und soweit ich weiß, gibt es bislang keinen einzigen Film, der gigantische Lurche auf die Menschheit hetzt. Wird also definitiv Zeit.
5th Avenue Frogger
Tyler DeAngelo hat einen Frogger-Klon aus Verkehrsdaten (in Echtzeit) von New Yorks 5th Avenue gebastelt: 5th Avenue Frogger, den man auf einer Frogger-Arcade-Maschine aus den 80ern zockt.
We hacked a 1980′s Frogger Arcade so the cars you dodge are really driving down 5th Ave while you play. 5th Ave Frogger is similar to the 80’s classic Frogger except the cars you dodge are actual cars driving down 5th ave in real time.
This year is Frogger’s 30 (ish) birthday. To celebrate, I wanted to imagine what Frogger would be like if it was developed today.
MIDI-Controlled Frog Legs

My project “Revived Zombie Frogs Underwater Ballet,” originally started from 2009 has been consummated as a video work. This work takes a form of MTV showing dead frog’s dance controlled by Midi controller and Midi signal. For the avoidance of cruelty to animals, dead frog bodies originally used in a medical dissection experiment were re-used for this work.

Golden Age Comicbook-Covers hat ein paar Highres-Scans der 70er-Comicserie Plop! Das war eine Horror/Humor-Anthologie, deren Stories später stellenweise in Deutschland in den Horror-Comics vom Williams Verlag zweitverwertet wurden (zu den Horror-Comics hatte ich hier mal ein Flickr-Set gebastelt). Nach dem Klick noch die komplette Story from verfressenen Vernon Glute, der seine Froschschenkel am liebsten frisch mag und ich verwette meinen Arsch, wenn der nicht das Vorbild für Monty Pythons Mr. Creosote war.
Giant Frog found and eaten
Ich weiß nicht, was da dran ist und das Bild ist zu unscharf, um da Photoshop-Arbeit auszumachen, aber angeblich haben sie in Malaysia einen 20kg-Frosch gefunden und ihn – gegessen.
Showing an image of the gigantic creature taken with a cell phone camera, a Chinese man claims that the photo was taken a fortnight ago at a mountainous area in Gemencheh, Malaysia. The frog was huge in size and tipped the scales at about 20kg, the normal weight of a seven or eight year-old child.
The man added, his friend offered to buy the frog for 500 Malaysian Ringgit (£100) but the Orang Asli demanded RM1,000 (£200) instead. As the friend did not have enough money with him at the time, he went home to get more money.
“When my friend returned to the Orang Asli’s house with the money, he discovered that the giant frog had been slaughtered and eaten. It was also learnt that the Orang Asli fell ill after consuming the frog and until today.

Preview-Clips zur neuen BBC-Doku „Life“
Ad schreibt mir: „I’m working on BBC Life (their new flagship nature docs following Planet Earth, etc) and we’ve been able to choose some incredible HD clips from each episode as weekly teasers (details below). My personal favorite is the Pebble Toad, but have been jostling with colleagues who also love the Jesus Christ lizard which is beautiful in HD :)

Ich finde es ja ganz witzig, dass mir die BBC beziehungsweise deren Agentur Preview-Clips zu einer Doku schicken, die hierzulande auf der Website zur Doku nicht anschaubar sind, offensichtlich wegen Copyright-Bullshits. Aber dafür kann ja die Doku nix. Oben ein Clip mit einem Frosch, der an fleischfressenden Pflanzen vorbeilatscht und sich in einen Flummi verwandelt, wenn die Tarantel angreift.

Star Wars Dagobah Frogtank
Das hier ist wohl das ultimative Yoda-Dingens. Ein Dagobah-themed Vivarium für Frösche und wenn ich nicht wissen würde, wie sehr Kaulquappen nach einer Weile stinken, ich würde mir glatt ein paar Frösche auf Dagobah großziehen.

Der gehäkelte Anatomie-Frosch
Das Auseinandernehmen von Fröschen im Biologie-Unterricht ist in Deutschland nicht sehr verbreitet, glaube ich. Zumindest musste ich nie einen der grünen Hüpfer sezieren, aber man kennt das ja, aus „E.T.“ beispielsweise. Die gehäkelte Froschversion erscheint mir allerdings weitaus tierfreundlicher, als die herkömmliche tödliche Methode. Nur auf Froschschenkel fürs Abendessen muss man damit verzichten.
