Billy Corgan, the erstwhile alt-era icon and Smashing Pumpkins frontman, has been at least as focused on wrestling as music for the past few years. So perhaps his awesomely absurdist TV ad for Chicago furniture supplier Walter E Smithe, which acts as a backdoor viral ad for his wrestling concern Resistance Pro, should be less surprising.
But that doesn’t make it any less hilarious, does it?

Functional Nintendo-Table with a Zapper

Von den Leuten, die damals den ersten (mir bekannten) Controller-Tisch gebaut hatten: Ein Nintendo-Tisch mit ‘ner Lichtpistole. Funktioniert alles, Wii-kompatibel.
Coffee designed after the Nintendo controller from 1985. This functional model is made from premium grade curly maple, birdseye maple, African bubinga, and mahogany and is compatible with the Nintendo Wii. It features dovetail joinery and midcentury modern legs. Also included in a side mounted custom bison holster is a zapper, handmade from bubinga and maple. The zapper functions as a Wii controller while selecting the classic Nintendo on the Wii menu. The zapper also vibrates and has a speaker to replicate the feel and sound of the original Wii controller.

The tutorial below will show you how to make your own “Mawari-Doro” or Japanese turning lamp customized to look like a goblin from the arcade classic, Pac-Man. The shell spins due to convection. Heat from the bulb causes the air around it to rise. The rising air passes through the slits in the top of the cylinder and the piece spins. There is no electric motor. It runs entirely on a single incandescent light bulb.
Here I will show you how to make a better version of what’s shown in the video. The eyes and color will be projected using a heat-resistant photographer’s gel that can be easily removed and reapplied if the bulb burns out. The pupils will be movable so you can have the eyes look in any direction. You have the choice of printing out a cylinder that spins clockwise or counterclockwise. You’ll also be able to make any of the ghosts: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Clyde and “don’t eat me!” blue.

Based on a joke my wife (total genius) made about 9 months ago, I made a Star Wars Christmas Story leg lamp crossover from parts I had around the house. Not permanent, but fun. The parts will be returned to their proper builds in a few days.
I HAVE been planning on making a permanent version ever since she first mentioned it months ago. After this picture was posted on facebook, there have been TONS of responses asking where I got it, which has given me the motivation to build the actual lamp for next December (2013).

Ich liebe den 3D-Dekonstruktivismus von Eragatory, den’s auch als praktisches Silberbesteck gibt, mit dem man prima den Familienbesuch irritieren kann. Ich esse mein Steak demnächst nur noch mit Glitch. Die Teile kann man normalerweise bei Shapeways bestellen, deren Website ist aber derzeit abgesoffen.

By subverting the logic of perfection and beauty, non-perfect images coming from controlled methodologies were generated.
What used to be about mastering the result of a non-perfect process is now about the production of monstrosity and the grotesque throughout very accurate mechanisms, like 3d printing. Which creates an unlimited range of possibilities concerning material usage, design approaches/aesthetics and form production.

The design idea comes from the traditional Chinese medicine cabinet, of which all the drawers are in the same size. In order to satisfy the multi- functional requirement, we apply Fibonacci Sequence, which is also called Golden Section for the intimately connection with the golden ratio, to rearrange every size of these units in series. The Fibonacci Sequence is a series of numbers: {0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, … } , in which the next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it.
