Ich hab in meinem Leben noch kein Lego-Game gezockt und hab’ nicht das Gefühl, wirklich etwas verpasst zu haben. Aber für Breaking Bad würde ich sofort eine Ausnahme machen. Wo bleibt eigentlich das Methmobil als Lego-Set, hm?

Detailed Ghostbuster-HQ in Lego
Alex Jones aka Orion Pax (dessen Lego-Arbeiten ihr kennt, mindestens seinen Breaking Bad-Lego-Van und die Back To The Future-Sachen) hat das Hauptquartier der Ghostbusters mit allen möglichen Details in Lego nachgebaut.
Two months of endless hours watching Ghostbusters 1 & 2 + the real Ghostbusters Animated show i can truly say i know a lot about the building at North Moore Street, New York City. The movie set was in Los Angeles and is seen in plenty of other movies while the outside of the building is in NY.
Planning on the interior was a bit confusing in the beginning, because of the fact that in the movies you always see only the garage and first floor. When i played the GHOSTBUSTERS game there are only two floors two, while on the outside the way the windows are you know there is the garage and two floors above. While watching the animated show i found out more about interiorsetups that would work with the model.So Egon´s lab is one of the agreements i had to make. The attetion to detail with some of the features was very important to me and i spend hours on planning through over and over again. The overall weight is about 15 kg and it took me around 2 months building.

For our annual Client Holiday gift this year, we decided to design a custom Eye Creature Lego kit. Edition of 6 sets. 444 pieces. 4 instruction booklets. 8 different mouth combinations – and a hinged top that allows the owner to store all kinds of fun items. We even found 2 extremely cute kids from 1972 in my house that wanted to participate in the box design.

Brick Envy verkauft einen superseltenen, offiziellen goldenen Legostein für 14.000 Dollar. Die Dinger wurden von 79 bis 81 ein paar mal an Jubilare und Businesspartner vergeben: „This incedibly rare piece was given to LEGO employees that had 25 years of employement at the Hohenwestedt, Germany factory and was also given to couple of very special business partners of LEGO of the time. It was only given out from about 1979-1981, only one or 2 per year from my understanding.“
Wenn ich so ein Teil besäße, ich würde mir die „Herz aus Gold“ aus dem Hitchhikers Guide basteln und die hätte dann… ein Lego-Herz aus Gold. Aaaaaw!

Ich war noch nie großer Turtles-Fan, aber die haben das auf der New York ComicCon mit dem wahrscheinlich ersten offiziellen Lego-Pizza-Set promotet und wenn ich von irgendwas Fan bin, dann ist es Pizza. Lego-Abmahnungen Update
We Like That haben ihr drittes Update in der Abmahnsache um die Lego-Skulpturen von Nathan Sawaya veröffentlich. Sawaya hat sich mittlerweile aktiv eingeschaltet und gestern Nacht eine Pressemitteilung rausgehauen:
I create art for the sole intent of sharing it with the world, sparking creativity and making people smile. It is upsetting to hear that bloggers and press who are trying to report on and share images of my artwork with others are being targeted by these agencies that do not represent me.
Leider bezieht er sich in der PM vor allem auf seine bekannteste Skulptur „Yellow“, die gar nicht Gegenstand der Abmahnungen war. Ich weiß allerdings auch, dass auf Nachfrage eines befreundeten, ebenfalls abgemahnten Bloggers folgende Antwort kam: „I can tell you that Nathan owns the rights to this photo as well. As the statement mentions, we hear there are multiple images that are being targeted.“ Ich bleibe in der Sache also weiterhin recht entspannt und futtere Popcorn.

[update] So wie sich die Sache mittlerweile darstellt, fliegen hier grade ein paar Abmahnabzocker gehörig aufs Maul: „Ich hatte soeben einen kurzen Mailverkehr mit Nathan Sawaya und dieser teilt mir folgendes mit: ‘My fiance took the photo. My company owns it. We have not sold the rights to it. My lawyer is reviewing this matter. I am not represented by the German law firm who sent the letter. I am not represented by this photo agency. Please spread the word.“

Neben einigen weiteren Blogs haben jetzt auch ‘Amy & Pink’ inklusive ihrer Ableger ‘The Invader’ und ‘Wenke Who’ erstmal ihre Pforten geschlossen, bis die ganze Sache endgültig geklärt ist. Ich kann die Entscheidung vollkommen nachvollziehen, möchte allerdings auch betonen, dass wir diesen Schritt nicht gehen werden. […]
Es muss in Deutschland eine einheitliche Regelung gefunden werden wie mit dem Thema Nutzungsrecht in solchen Fällen umgegangen wird und wenn nötig ziehen wir damit auch vor Gericht. Ich zumindest!
