Vergangene Woche führte man einen verurteilten Kriminellen in der iranischen Stadt Marivan in Frauenkleidern durch die Stadt, weshalb nun Feministen auf die Barrikaden gehen. Und dann schwappte der Protest ins Netz, wo sich jetzt iranische Männer in Frauenkleidern ablichten lassen. Toll!
On April 15, police paraded a convicted criminal through the northwestern city of Marivan dressed in traditional Kurdish women’s clothing. This has prompted protests in the streets, online, and even in Iran’s parliament.
The day after the incident, a local feminist organisation, the Marivan Women’s Community, organised a protest to denounce this punishment — which was handed down by a local court — as insulting to Kurdish women. About a hundred men and women attended.
On Thursday, the movement spread online, via a Facebook page titled “Being a woman is not humiliating and should not be considered punishment.” By Friday, it had gained over 3,800 fans. Men living both inside Iran and abroad have posted photos of themselves dressed as women to express solidarity with the women of Marivan. A few women, too, have posted photos of themselves — this time, dressed as men.

There are very few dragon sales happening, so the price of dragons hinges entirely on the idiosyncratic decision-making leading up to a single transaction. Nobody knows what price a dragon would fetch if Daenerys tried to offer it up at a widely publicized auction. What we know (from the books where the transaction is spelled out in more detail) is that Kraznys Mo Nakloz is willing to trade 1,000 Unsullied for the goods carried by the Vhagar, the Meraxes, and the Balerion and to trade 1,000 more for the three ships themselves. But for her plan to work, Daenerys needs to buy all 8,600 Unsullied. Krazynys agrees to sell the whole lot for the three ships, their contents, and a single dragon. Hence a dragon is worth 6,600 Unsullied, a ship is worth 333 Unsullied, and thus a dragon is worth approximately 20 ships.
Spoilers are involved in the details, but from the books we know that Sallador San has at least 29 ships left after the Battle of Blackwater, so in pure financial terms, three dragons does not seem to make House Targaryen all that rich compared to the great houses of Westeros. Certainly, though, it’s valuable property.

Die TAZ über Embedding-Abmahnungen in Blogs
Die TAZ hatte am Wochenende einige Blogger zur mündlichen Einschätzung des Bundergerichtshofs wegen Urheberrechtsverletzungen bei eingebetteten Video befragt, unter anderem auch mich. Ich hatte mein Statement schonmal auf Facebook verdingst, jetzt allerdings ist der Artikel der TAZ online: „In Webseiten eingebundene Onlinevideos könnten nach Einschätzung des Bundesgerichtshofs Urheberrechte verletzen.“
Hier mein Statement und noch ein paar Sätze dazu: Wahrscheinlich sehe ich das alles zu entspannt und übersehe da etwas, ich denke aber nach wie vor, das man diese Entscheidung nicht losgelöst vom ursprünglichen Fall sehen kann, in dem eine konkrete Konkurrenz-Situation vorliegt. Sicherlich entsteht durch die Entscheidung (die noch nicht gefallen ist) eine Rechtsunsicherheit, aber Panik vor einer angeblichen Abmahnwelle schiebe ich deshalb noch lange nicht.
Die mündliche Einschätzung des BGH bezieht sich auf einen konkreten Fall, in dem ein Konkurrent einer Firma ein Video per Youtube angezeigt hat, das unerlaubt auf YT hochgeladen wurde. Dieser Fall lässt sich auf die allermeisten per Youtube eingebetteten Videos in Blogs nicht wirklich anwenden, da diese zu schätzungsweise 90% aus offiziellen Quellen stammen und von den Urhebern dort hochgeladen wurde, mit dem impliziten Wunsch der Verbreitung über Social Media-Kanäle wie etwa Blogs. Abmahnungen sind hier meines Erachtens nicht zu erwarten.
Interessant wird es freilich bei „sekundären Quellen“, bei durch die GEMA/Youtube-Verhandlungen gesperrten Videos, die bei Vimeo online gestellt werden. Sollte die GEMA (oder schlimmer noch: die Labels) sich hier dazu entscheiden, diese „Urheberrechtsverletzungen“ abzumahnen, käme das einem kulturellen Kahlschlag in der Netzwelt gleich.
Für mein Blog ziehe ich, selbst bei einem entsprechenden schriftlichen Urteil, keine Konsequenzen.
Fake-iPods von Abmahn-Freunden für den Bundestag
Ein paar Abmahn-Tollfinder haben dem kompletten Bundestag einen Fake-iPod geschickt, offenbar aus Protest gegen das abgenickte (und zahnlose) Anti-Abmahngesetz. Im Brief erklären sie wohl, dass die Bundesregierung hiermit „Diebstahl von Musik“ legalisiert hätte. Auch hübsch: Für rigideres Urheberrecht protestieren – mit Fake-iPods aus China. Wer die Ironie findet, darf sie behalten.
Ich finde zu „Don’t fuck with Music“ leider keine weiteren Infos, die Facebook-Seite (www.facebook.com/dontfuckwithmusic) existiert nicht und von dem Brief gibt’s leider nur dieses eine Bild, den hätte ich für mein eigenes Amusemang gerne mal gelesen. Unter der Adresse finde ich einen Plattenladen und ein Label, dürfte irgendwo aus dem Umfeld kommen.
Unter dem Motto “Don’t fuck with music” hat eine “Initiative zum Schutz der Musik” mit dem Absender einer “Community Promotion&Publishing e.K.” anscheinend alle Bundestagsabgeordnete mit einem iPod-Nachbau und einem Brandbrief beschenkt. Die Initiatoren sind offensichtlich auf die Kommunikationsstrategie der Regierungskoalition reingefallen, dass mit dem letzte Woche in erster Lesung beschlossenen Gesetz gegen unseriöse Geschäftspraktiken die Abmahnindustrie erfolgreich eingedämmt wird.

Data Visualizing the Identity of Satoshi Nakamoto
Spannendes Posting auf Bitslog, wo man die ersten Bitcoins visualisiert hat. Ich steig’ selbst nicht ganz durch, aber anscheinend lässt sich anhand dieses Verfahrens, wenn die Identität auch nur einer Bitcoin-Transaktion rauskommt, die Identität von Bitcoin-Erschaffer Satoshi Nakamoto quasi per Reverse Engineering herausfinden. Ich tendiere bei Bitcoins mittlerweile zu „Größtes Netz-Wirtschafts-Kunstprojekt aller Zeiten“, wer weiß, was da am Ende bei rauskommt…

One of the consequences of these graph is that if the real name of the sender of a single transaction belonging to the entity is identified, then Satoshi mystery identity will be revealed. I bet that this will happen in the days following this post.
