Tolles Poster von DeviantArt-Userin Dusty Abell mit 123 Charakteren und Spaceships aus allen 79 Folgen der Original Star Trek-Serie. Das Teil gibt’s hier in Super HighRez und in grob 6000×9000 Pixeln was locker für ‘nen Offset-Print in A1 ausreichen dürfte, als Digitaldruck kriegt man’s sicher noch größer hin.
Und hier gibt’s eine Legende zum Bild mit „all 123 individual characters, creatures and craft in my Classic Trek poster. Along with thier names, i’ve included the show titles from the original 79 episodes and the pilot that each person, entity, structure or ship made it’s or their first appearance in.“

Peter Dean hat ein altes Zirkus-Poster, das John Lennon gehörte und ihn zum Song Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! inspirierte, 1:1 aus einer alten Fotografie rekonstruiert… und zwar mit den gleichen Techniken, die 1843 zur Verfügung standen. Prints davon kann man hier kaufen. Großartige Story, großartiges Video, großartiger Beatles-Song, großartiges Poster. Alles großartig, bin sehr begeistert.
This is a reproduction of the poster that inspired John Lennon to write the song ‘Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!’, which appeared on The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. It is printed in a limited edition of 1,967.
Lennon bought the poster in an antiques shop and hung it in his music room. While writing for Sgt. Pepper one day, he drew inspiration from the quirky, old-fashioned language and set the words to music. Every effort has been made to be true to the original poster and it is printed using the same methods that would have been used in 1843.

Tolle Sammlung von Postern aus Schulen in Indien auf Imgur (via MeFi), stellenweise ein bisschen bizarr, wie man an der Struwwelpeter-Variante oben sieht: „Many of the posters are from the Indian Book Depot, which was established in 1936 in Lahore, and is now located in Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar. Thai Horrorfilm Posters
Monsterbrains hat ein vollkommen irres Posting/Flickr-Set online gestellt, in dem sie nicht weniger als 86 Horrofilmposter aus Thailand in HighRez versammeln, eins fantastischer als das andere. Ehrlich: Eine der besten Filmposter-Sammlungen aus Asien im Netz. I mean really! Look at this! Awesome trifft es nichtmal ansatzweise. Nach dem Klick ein paar Favorites davon, die Filmtitel schreibe ich nicht dazu, die Filme sollte jeder Mensch ohnehin auswendig kennen.
Map of Film-Titles
Vor einem halben Jahr hatte ich die Song Map vom Designstudio Dorothy gebloggt, jetzt haben sie eine Film-Version gestaltet. Hier gibt’s die limited Edition mit Schnickschnack, hier den Standard-Print. Die Strandbar Titty Twister liegt am Reservoir Dogs in dem’s The Island of Dr. Moreau gibt. Im Forrest Gump steht die Cabin in the Woods und House of Frankenstein, House of Dracula und House of Wax liegen alle in derselben Gegend. I’m lovin’ it!

The Map, which is loosely based on the style of a vintage Los Angeles street map has its own Hollywood Boulevard and includes districts dedicated to Hitchcock and Cult British Horror movies. Like most cities it also has its own Red Light area. There’s an A-Z key at the base of the Map listing all the films featured with their release dates and names of the directors.

Trailer zur kommenden Doku über Drew Struzan, dem Gestalter der Poster zu (Luft holen): Blade Runner, Star Wars, Goonies, The Thing, Rambo, Escape from New York, ET, Indiana Jones und tausend anderen mehr. Ich bin zwar ein bisschen übersättigt, was diesen Teil der Popkultur angeht, aber die Doku passt noch rein.

Bunny Bissoux hatte 2009 einen Print mit Bands und Sängern, die sich ‘nen Skull ins Gesicht malten oder sich schminkten wie ein Kadaver: „Featuring (amongst others): King Diamond, Kiss, Gorgoroth, Sarcofago, Mayhem, Alice Cooper, Hell Hammer, Legion of Doom, Juggalos and Badgers.“ Gab’s damals in seinem Etsy-Shop, ist leider schon lange ausverkauft.
