Radiomensch Marcus Richter (kennt Ihr von u.a. Fritz’ Trackback) will ein interaktives Hörspiel mit Rollenspiel-Elementen auf die Beine stellen und finanziert das Vorhaben grade auf Startnext. Das Teil soll auf Detektor.fm gesendet werden und wird danach unter CC-Lizenz veröffentlicht. Schöne Idee, finde ich sehr unterstützenswert – die Jungs brauchen noch 900 Euro, das sollte zu stemmen sein.
Ein Radiorollenspiel ist ein interaktives Hörspiel, bei dem die Hörer die Hauptrollen spielen und Einfluß auf die Geschichte nehmen können. Wir wollen ein solches Radiorollenspiel planen, schreiben, produzieren und im Programm des Radiosenders detektor.fm aufführen. Wir haben uns für ein Crowdfunding-Projekt entschieden, weil die Vorbereitung und Produktion sehr aufwändig ist, aber bis jetzt nicht durch den deutschen Radiomarkt finanziert werden konnte. […]
Beim Radiorollenspiel sollen [Pen&Paper-Rollenspiele und Hörspiele] miteinander vermischt werden: Ein Erzähler beschreibt eine Rahmenhandlung, die von Musik, Soundeffekten und professionellen Sprechern unterstützt wird. Die Hörer können sich per Anruf in die Sendung einschalten und selbst die Hauptrollen übernehmen. In ihrer Rolle werden die Hörer in die Geschichte integriert und bekommen einen Auftrag, den es zu lösen gilt. Die Art und Weise wie die Hörer vorgehen wollen, ist ihnen dabei selbst überlassen, Spielleiter, Soundeffekte und die Sprecher in den Nebenrollen reagieren auf die Aktionen der Hörer.

John Peels Record-Collection online
Das John Peel Centre for the Creative Arts hat heute die ersten einhundert Alben aus John Peels Plattensammlung online gestellt, das Projekt wird im nächsten halben Jahr das komplette Archiv digitalisieren und über Spotisfy verfügbar machen.
John Peel’s personal record collection consists of over 26,000 LPs, 40,000 singles and many thousands of CDs.
The project will release the names and song titles of 100 records a week from the collection, for 26 weeks between May- Oct, featuring the first records from one letter of the alphabet each week. People will be able to listen online to many of these records via links compiled by the project.
Each week, one artist will be chosen for a video interview, which will feature alongside the collection- these artists are being chosen by Sheila Ravenscroft (John Peel’s wife) and their children.

Die komplette Plattensammlung von John Peel soll digitalisiert und für eine Online-Ausstellung als Stream ins Netz gestellt werden. Für die zu spät geborenen: John Peel war legendärer BBC-Deejay, wahrscheinlich der Wegbereiter für Indie-Pop in England und seine Plattensammlung ist nichts anderes als legendär. John Peel ist eine der zentralen Figuren, die Popmusik zu dem gemacht haben, die sie heute ist (und damit meine ich nicht die Industrie, sondern Pop als Genre, Pop als popular Music, Pop als gute Musik. John Peel ist die Blaupause des unabhängigen Radio-Deejays. Der Mann hat mehr Bands entdeckt, als man zählen kann.

Peel’s collection, which contains 25,000 LPs, 40,000 singles and many thousands of CDs, will become part of The Space, a new experimental digital service organised and funded by the Arts Council and the BBC. The Arts Council will provide initial funding while the BBC will provide support and development advice. Further funding will be sought in the future to complete the project and make every record available online.
Tom Barker, Director, John Peel Centre for Creative Arts, said: “It is the first step in creating an interactive online museum with access to the entire collection, one of the most important archives in modern music history.” Frank Prendergast of Eye Film And Television added: “The idea is to digitally recreate John’s home studio and record collection, which users will be able to interact with and contribute to, while viewing Peel’s personal notes, archive performances and new filmed interviews with musicians.”
Sheila Ravenscroft, John Peel’s wife and Patron of the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts also commented, stating: “We’re very happy that we’ve finally found a way to make John’s amazing collection available to his fans, as he would have wanted. This project is only the beginning of something very exciting.”
The Space will run from May to October across various platforms including PCs and smartphones, while it will also be available as a red button on-demand service via Freeview HD.

Swen hat grade ein rundes Dutzend verschiedenster Podcasts rausgehauen: Some interviews, lectures and features und Neulich im Radio. Ich werde mir sicher nicht alle anhören – aber fast! Und ich fange grade mit Oliver Sacks an, meinem Lieblingsneurologen und Autor von „Der Mann, der seine Frau mit dem Hut verwechselte“, der ein fast einstündiges Interview bei Authors@Google gibt (ist ein YT-Video, kann man aber bequem im Hintergrund laufen lassen).
Audiofiles: Best of Podcasts
Audiofil.es ist ein Filter für Podcasts (via MeFi) und funktioniert ein wenig wie Longreads. Ich hab’ zwar noch nirgends reingehört, aber schon einiges entdeckt, das ich mir später näher ansehen werde, zum Beispiel: Sofia Coppola at Age 5, Charles Darwin and the racing asparagus, Saving the story oder The quest to design the perfect yawn („What would it take to design a yawn so powerful that it would make everyone who saw it yawn back?“)
Für deutschsprachige Podcasts habe ich das Blog von Swen abonniert, der sehr oft sehr gute Dinger raushaut, hier seine Linkliste. Sowas wie Audiofil.es würde ich mir aber auch definitiv für Sendungen hierzulande wünschen und wenn wir grade schon dabei sind: Ich höre grade den aktuellen HR2 Der Tag-Podcast: Seid verschlungen, Millionen – Von Geldströmen und Kapitalflüssen.
Falls Sie sich bisher nur wenig Gedanken darüber gemacht haben, wohin die zirkulierenden Geldströme inmitten der globalen Finanzkrise eigentlich fließen, dann wollen wir Ihnen heute helfen. Here's two radio jingles that bring back the memories of when all it took was a slice of pizza, some sunshine and smile on your face to make everything A-OK! I like the 70s jingle the best; short, catchy and funky! In typical 80s fashion, the jingle was doubled in length and the drums machine is pounding away while girls work out in leg warmers. But hey, it's all good. By the way, you'll hear mention of "Horseheads" in the 80s song. Horseheads is a small town in New York. Seems each Pudgies battles for superiority with other Pudgies!

The video chat within Google+ is called “Hangouts” and you can have up to 10 people interact via video, text chat, YouTube, and screen images. Within the first week, makers started to experiment with Google+ Hangout video, and I immediately helped arrange the first “DIY electronics show-and-tell.” It was like a mini Maker Faire, Instructables front page, and hackerspace all rolled into one.
The Ruins of Villa Epecuen – Alan Taylor – In Focus – The Atlantic: Back in the 1920s, a tourist village was established along the shore of Lago Epecuen, a salt lake some 600 kilometers southwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The resort town, named Villa Epucuen, soon had a railroad station, and it thrived for several decades, peaking in the 1970s with a population of more than 5,000. Around the same time, a long-term weather event was delivering far more rain than usual to the surrounding hills for years, and Lago Epecuen began to swell. YouTube DMCA Takedown Grabs Track For Eminem | TorrentFreak: “I Just got a f*%king CRAZY email,” Skepta tweeted last Thursday. “I don’t know if I should be angry or privileged. This explains why the f*%k YouTube took ‘Dare To Dream’ off.”” It happened like this.
After “Dare to Dream” was put up on YouTube one of its early listeners was Jimmy Iovine, founder of Interscope records. Recognizing quality, Iovine had plans in his mind for Skepta’s track so, with help from parent company Universal, they had YouTube remove the song on copyright grounds. Armed with cash Interscope approached Boy Better Known, a group and record label founded in 2005 by Skepta and the team behind Dare to Dream. “Being in an industry where money talks, everybody involved in the ‘Dare To Dream’ project came to a conclusion to sign it to Interscope,” says Skepta.
So who is the lucky recipient of the track? None other than Interscope giant Eminem.

Hübsch! Spam Radio verwandelt Spam Mails (leider nicht die eigenen) in einen Audio-Stream: „Using a complex arrangement of pipes and funnels we turn the junk mail that we receive into a streaming audio broadcast that can be enjoyed from anywhere on the Internet.“
Turning junk email into a listenable broadcast is a multi-staged process, using a number of different technologies. Here is a summary of the process we use:
- Junk email arrives at our mail server, causing the wheels of spamradio to begin turning
- The junk mail is processed, taking care to break various MIME encodings and HTML formatted text into plain text.
- The plain text file is then split into smaller chunks and fed through a text-to-speech engine. This yields a number of small audio files.
- The audio files are assembled into one large file, and the resulting sound wave is mixed with the background music.
- The final output is then encoded using mp3 and inserted into the live audio stream.

Tolle Story: Dieses Video mit dem obdachlosen Ted Williams wurde auf Reddit gepostet, das Internet dreht auf und findet den Mann und der sitzt heute morgen in der Radioshow eines Lokalsenders.
Ted Williams, “der Mann mit der goldenen Stimme”, wurde gestern von einem Team des Columbus Dispatch aufgenommen und dabei stellte sich heraus, dass der Obdachlose mit dem Pappschild eine unglaubliche Stimme hat, die wie für’s Radio gemacht scheint.
Im Laufe des Tages wurde Teds Beitrag in einer Radio Sendung in Columbus gespielt und ein Zuhörer offerierte 15,000$, um Ted bei dieser Sendung einzustellen. Vor knapp 3 Stunden hat redditor shiggiddie das Video mit Ted Williams bei Reddit gepostet und sofort meldeten sich auch die ersten Leser bei ihm, um Ted einen Job zu geben.

Yours Truly live bei DRadio Wissen
[update] Der Podcast der Sendung ist jetzt online: Nerdtalk – Entdecker fremder Welten, ich habe mir mal erlaubt, das Teil zu rippen und hochzuladen (MP3, 26MB). Radio macht mir tatsächlich, desto öfter ich das mache, immer mehr Spaß und jetzt denke ich über einen regelmäßigen unregelmäßigen Podcast nach. Mal sehen.
Ich bin heute morgen, am Samstag, von 11 bis 12 Uhr live bei DRadio Wissen (hier der Livestream) zu hören. Es wird um dieses kleine Blog hier gehen und ich habe der Redaktion ein paar exemplarische Links geschickt, zu denen ich mir ein paar Sätze aus der Nase ziehen werde. Außerdem geht’s um die grade verliehenen Nobelpreise und ich muss werde ‘was vorlesen.
