George Takei reviews a Fresh Whole Rabbit
Spoiler: „Tastes like Chicken“.
Brad and I were very excited to order a few of these delectable beauties in order to reenact the skinning and spitting-over-an-open-fire scene from Game of Thrones. Now, I hate to split hares, but…
First of all, it is NOT at all as easy as it looks in that scene. Meera and Osha made it look so simple. But both Brad and I pulling together couldn’t get that damn skin off. The rabbit wound up looking more like Theon Greyjoy’s finger than a rabbit. Second, apparently you cannot light an open fire in your backyard in Los Angeles. No one told us that. Thanks, LAFD, for understanding. Third, it pretty much tastes like chicken.

Star Trek 2 – Neuer Trailer

This Summer, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Given our increasingly promiscuous technological lives, perhaps the dissonance in Sony’s PS4 announcement has less to do with mismatches in the claims of its hardware and software designers, and more to do with the idea that anybody would bother to make such claims in the first place. It would have been enough just to say, “Look, we made a badasser PlayStation, just like you expected.” […]
Maybe it’s time. Our gizmos and gadgets, our phones and laptops and tablets and videogame consoles just aren’t very special anymore. And counter-intuitively, that’s what’s so newly special about them: their familiarity, their ordinariness. Their ever-accelerating status as ground rather than figure. We mistakenly believe that the label “next generation” implies newness and innovation, a promise of the technological utopia we’ve been dreaming of. But if you pause to reflect on the matter, you’ll quickly realize that all those earlier generations were once next generations themselves, for some previously current generation. Innovation is like a Chinese finger trap: the more you tug deliberately at progress, the less progress you make, because the deepest, most profund novelty is the kind that blinds us to novelty. Every “next” thing shouldn’t have to be a revolution. It can just be what comes next.
Captain Kirk will chat with Commander Hadfield in Space today…
- Short presentation by Jeremy Hansen
- Live conversation between Chris Hadfield and William Shatner
- Live video connection between Chris Hadfield and space tweeps
- Scientific presentations and demos

And then this happened: Star Trek & The City. „Intimacy: The final frontier. These are the voyages of Ensign Carrie Bradshaw. Her mission: To boldly go where four single gals have never gone before.“ Star Trek into darkness, indeed.

The Star Trek-Twitter-Meme in Space
@williamshatner Yes, Standard Orbit, Captain. And we’re detecting signs of life on the surface.
— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) January 3, 2013
With @georgetakei posting about our space comms, all we need is @therealnimoy to beam in and we’d have an away team! :) facebook.com/photo.php?fbid…
— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) January 4, 2013
Und der schickte ihm auch prompt ein mehr als angemessenes „Live Long And Prosper“:
I am not Spock either, but living and working in this spaceship comes pretty close. Life mirrors art. LLAP, @therealnimoy.
— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) January 5, 2013
@wilw Wesley, we’ve talked about you being on the bridge. I believe you’re needed in Engineering. :)
— Chris Hadfield (@Cmdr_Hadfield) January 5, 2013
@cmdr_hadfield @williamshatner Neil & I would’ve tweeted from the moon if we could have but I would prefer to tweet from Mars. Maybe by 2040
— Buzz Aldrin (@TheRealBuzz) January 4, 2013
The World is pretty awesome, sometimes.
I’m proud of being Canadian, but after yesterday’s twitter conversation am starting to question wearing this red shirt. twitter.com/Cmdr_Hadfield/…

Captain Kirk is tweeting to Space
William Shatner so: „@cmdr_hadfield Are you tweeting from space?“
Und Commander Chris Hadfield, kanadischer Astronaut und grade auf der ISS, so: „Yes, Standard Orbit, Captain. And we’re detecting signs of life on the surface.“

Smooth as an android’s bottom, eh, Data? Your shields were failing, sir. What? We’re not at all alike! I recommend you don’t fire until you’re within 40,000 kilometers. Sorry, Data. You enjoyed that. The Federation’s gone; the Borg is everywhere!

Star Trek into Darkness – Trailer
Youtube Direkttrek, via F5

The Complete Star Trek TOS in one giant Poster

Along with thier names, i’ve included the show titles from the original 79 episodes and the pilot that each person, entity, structure or ship made it’s or their first appearance in.“
