Stephen Colbert is up in Space – literally!
Ein Teil der Internationalen Raumstation wird nach dem großartigen Stephen Colbert benannt. Die NASA hatte einen Wettbewerb gestartet, in dem die Leute Vorschläge einsenden konnten, wie ein neuer Bereich der ISS getauft werden würde. Stephen Colbert rief in seinem Colbert Report dazu auf, seinen Namen einzusenden und nun hat er tatsächlich gewonnen. Stephen Colbert is up in sapce, hell yeah! Die NASA behält allerdings das Recht vor, einen angemesseneren Namen auszuwählen.
The name “Colbert” beat out NASA’s four suggested options in the space agency’s effort to have the public help name the addition. The new room will be launched later this year.
NASA’s mistake was allowing write-ins. Colbert urged viewers of his Comedy Central show, “The Colbert Report,” to write in his name. And they complied, with 230,539 votes. That clobbered Serenity, one of the NASA choices, by more than 40,000 votes. Nearly 1.2 million votes were cast by the time the contest ended Friday.

Vor ungefähr zwei Wochen war Larry Lessig bei Stephen Colbert, stritt mit ihm über Copyright und Remixe, woraufhin Colbert den Leuten da draußen allerallerallerstrengstens untersagte, Teile des Interviews mit komischen Dance-Tunes zu mixen. Natürlich haben die Leute genau das gemacht und nun schlägt Colbert zurück. Mit einem komischen Dance-Tune-Remix und noch komischeren Dance-Moves.
