Toller Kurzfilm von Dan Blank als Hommage an Ghostbusters oder Big Trouble in Little China. Wirkt ein bisschen wie Stephen Chows Shaolin Soccer mit Monstern. Ich würd’s mir ansehen.
This short was created as a proof-of-concept for a feature about sushi chefs fighting sea monsters. It’s a crazy idea, but one we just really wanted to see made. So, we made it.
We sorely miss the tone of those big, fun fantasy movies we grew up with–movies like Ghostbusters, Gremlins, and Big Trouble in Little China. We also want to continue the tradition of more recent movies like The Host and District 9 where strong story, characters, and humor take priority over expensive VFX sequences.

In an effort to reinvent [nori, sheets of Japanese seaweed used in sushi] simple square of seaweed without losing sight of the age-old traditions embedded in their culture, I&SBBDO decided to laser cut classic Japanese patterns into the paper-thin nori sheets.
Each pattern is meant to symbolize good fortune, happiness, and longevity, etc. and the result is a delicate, unexpected reinvention of the classic Japanese food with a modern twist.

How To make Kryptonite-Sushi from bio-engineered Glowing Fish
In diesem Video erklären zwei Leute, wie man leuchtendes Kryptonit-Sushi aus genetisch manipulierten Fischen macht. Das Projekt ist Teil einer Ausstellung namens „Edible: The Taste of Things To Come“ in der Science Gallery in Dublin und dort kann man sich neben vielen anderen Sachen auch noch das Konzept zu 3D-gedruckten Insekten-Cookies anschauen. 3D-Gedruckte essbare Space-Shuttles und Schokolade hatte ich hier schon, also gehen natürlich auch 3D-gedruckte Kekse aus zermanschten Insekten. Insects Au Gratin, by a group of British artists, suggests that 3D printing is the technology that could make entomophagy (the consumption of insects) catch on. It has an ecological dimension – crickets take four times less energy to produce than beef – even if it also has a pretty strong yuck factor. But extruding the insect protein into alternative shapes could help to eliminate that. Given what we already do with foods the idea of munching on cricket nuggets may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.

Trevor Corson erklärt, wie man richtig Sushi isst. Die Regeln erscheinen mir ein wenig hardcore, es ist zum Beispiel durchaus in Ordnung, Sushi mit Stäbchen zu essen, aber Wasabi zur Soja-Soße zu mischen ist wirklich ein Verbrechen. Sushi Trucks
Das hier sind keine Automodelle auf denen Sushi liegt, sondern Miniaturen echter Trucks, die gigantische Fischmonster in die wissenschaftliche Zweitverwertungsstelle transportieren, nachdem sie halb Tokyo plattgemacht haben und schließlich von Godzilla und/oder der Armee erledigt wurden.
