In Australien erwarten sie Klimawandel sei dank nächste Woche so dermaßen heißes Wetter, dass die dort eine neue Farbe für WE BURN IN HELL anlegen mussten. It’s Pink.
Extreme heat in Australia forced the government’s weather bureau to upgrade its temperature scale, with new colours on the climate map to reflect new highs forecast next week. Central Australia was shown with a purple area on the latest Bureau of Meteorology forecast map issued for next Monday, a new colour code suggesting temperatures will soar above 50 degrees Celsius (122 Fahrenheit).
The bureau’s head of climate monitoring and prediction David Jones said the new scale, which also features a pink code for temperatures from 52 to 54 degrees, reflected the potential for old heat records to be smashed. “The scale has just been increased today and I would anticipate it is because the forecast coming from the bureau’s model is showing temperatures in excess of 50 degrees,” Jones told Fairfax newspapers.
Ahmadinejad: Europe „steals Irans Rain“

It’s raining Worms!
Regnende Fische und Kröten sind sowas von 90s, doh. Wer braucht schon Amphibien, wenn man auch aus dem heiteren Himmel fallende Würmer haben kann.

Another Fire Tornado in Hawaii
Letzte Woche wollten sie uns noch erzählen, Feuertornados wären so superselten und der in Brasilien ein einmaliges Naturschauspiel. Und dann spielt sich vor ein paar Tagen auf Hawaii genau das gleiche ab.
This really is a fantastic demonstration of how microscale weather works. Imagine: a fire starts. As the air is heated above the fire, it rises, and the upward motion can be very strong. This leaves a lower pressure spot at the fire, and the air from outside the fire rushes in to fill the gap. The air is very turbulent, and as the inward-moving air from one side hits air coming in from the other, swirls can form. These get amplified by the constant gale of air, and rotation on a larger scale can get started and sustained. The whirlwind gets pumped by the hot air rising, and the next thing you know you’ve got a full-blown tornado of fire.

Den Feuertornado aus Brasilien wollte ich mir ja auch die ganze Zeit hier reinkleben, bin aber erst jetzt in Feuertornado-Laune. Dafür versteck ich den auch zurückdatiert irgendwohin.

So sieht England im Moment von oben aus, ist ein offizielles Bild der NASA (via BB) und kein Screenshot aus IceAge 4 oder Day after Tomorrow oder sowas. Das wirklich schlechte an dieser Nachricht steht allerdings im Blog meines Comic Dealers:
Unser britischer US-Comic-Lieferant DIAMOND ist eingeschneit und die Speditionen haben ihre Arbeit eingestellt… die aktuelle US-Comic-Lieferung trifft deshalb frühestens am kommenden Montag ein.
Zum Glück hatte ich mich schon Anfang der Woche mit ‘nem Stapel Comics eingedeckt. Yay!

Ich wollte grade dem fantastischen Wetter huldigen und suchte auf Youtube nach einem Clip zu „Good Day Sunshine“ von den Fab Four, da stieß ich auf eine ganze Reihe von Beatles Cartoons. Alle fangen mit irgendeiner Story an, woraufhin die John, Paul, Ringo und George die Welt mit einem Song retten.

Fuck the Rain
Ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich beim Regen durch die Gegend gerannt bin, und dem Himmel den Mittelfinger entgegengestreckt habe. Die Arbeit hätte ich mir mit diesem Schirm sparen können.

In sechs Stunden spielen Radiohead live und ich werde dabei sein und ich freu mir ein Loch ins Knie, theoretisch zumindest. Denn: es pisst. Es ist kalt. Und es ist grau. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
Das Gewitter und die Badewanne
Ich bin von Haus aus nicht abergläubig, ich bin sogar ganz und gar nicht gläubig, weder religiös gesehen, noch irgendwie weltlich, wenn man das so sagen kann. Ich hänge quasi keiner Verschwörungstheorie an (obwohl ich die sehr spannend finde) und gehe unter Leitern durch und wenn mir eine schwarze Katze begegnet, sage ich freundlich „Hallo“. Und mit Urban Myths braucht mir auch keiner kommen, von wegen Babys in Vasen und solcher Quatsch. Das ist alles Blödsinn.
Aber ich will jetzt in die Badewanne, während es gewittert. Das ist ein Problem.
Weil ich schlicht nicht weiß, ob diese Weisheit „Nicht baden während es gewittert“ nun ein Gerücht, eine Urban Myth, Blödsinn oder die Wahrheit ist. Und googeln bringt mich auch nicht weiter, da finde ich genau zwei Aussagen: „Das ist Blödsinn“ und „Nicht bei Gewitter baden“. Yeah. Also, mal an die Elektriker und Nicht-Elektriker: wie ist das jetzt – kann man bei Gewitter gefahrlos baden? Ich würde Euch nämlich auch in Zukunft ganz gerne noch weiter mit diesem Geschreibsel hier auf den Senkel gehen.
