Free Pizza Vasectomy

W… What?
How about a free pizza with that vasectomy? That’s the unusual deal being offered by Urology Associates of Cape Cod as a lighthearted way to raise awareness about the procedure and drum up business. Call it a pie for the sterile guy.
And there’s also a basketball tie-in. With March Madness — the NCAA basketball tournament — set to unfurl over the next few weeks, practice administrator Evan Cohen sees the vasectomy deal as a case of perfect timing. Men need a few days of recovery after a vasectomy, so what could be better than hanging out on the couch, watching some hoops and chowing down a free pizza? “It does actually come with one topping. Maybe you can put some meatballs on it,” joked Cohen.
Split Tongue Moutheyes

Weird Steve has a house that lives up to his name. Filled to the brim with oddities and curiosities, it is a perfect example of the Victorian decorating style known as “horror vacui” (literally, fear of empty spaces), and not a square inch goes uncovered. Weird Steve has dedicated his life to cramming his Victorian Mansion with his growing collection of curios, antiquities and odd refuse.
Steve’s unusual artifacts include circus sideshow exhibits (pickled punks, two headed animals), Victorian Art (wreaths of human hair, furniture, statues), Natural History (exotic taxidermy, anatomical displays), antique medical and quack instruments, funeral paraphernalia (antique coffins, collection of casket plates), a 25,000+ library of curious and esoteric themes, 150+ antique toasters, a sculpture garden (complete with 25 foot-tall Rapunzel tower), a tree house outfitted as a bordello and countless others oddities. Wonderful, cluttered Horror Vacui at its best.
And then that happened…

MIDI-Controlled Frog Legs
Oh man!
My project “Revived Zombie Frogs Underwater Ballet,” originally started from 2009 has been consummated as a video work. This work takes a form of MTV showing dead frog’s dance controlled by Midi controller and Midi signal. For the avoidance of cruelty to animals, dead frog bodies originally used in a medical dissection experiment were re-used for this work.

Odd Hair Drivers License

Ein Kommentar fasst das Dilemma ziemlich gut zusammen: „You have ruined any chance of having a life of crime. If you decide to go on a crime spree, they can now determine what you will look like with/without hair and facial hair!“

Vasektomie Simulator
WTF is this, I don’t even…

Anthropodermic Bibliopegy with Nipples
The Book Bound With A Human Face
The skin of Father Henry Garnet, a part of the in the 1605 gunpowder plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament (made popular by Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s V for Vendetta), binds a 1606 record of this offenses against him, entitled A True and Perfect Relation of the Whole Proceedings Against the Late Most Barbarous Traitors, Garnet a Jesuit and His Confederates. The conspiracy still holds a special place for those in Great Britain, with the fifth of November celebrated as Guy Fawkes Day.Garnet regularly listened to the confessions from the collaborators, and while not an active in the plot to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I, Garnet received a punishment of death by hanging due to his knowledge of the plan, with his body later drawn and quartered prior to the removal of skin for binding.
One copy of of A True and Perfect Relation bound with Garnet’s skin is particularly unusual, as an impression from the face of Garnet is seen on the front cover (there is an image of it above, but the face is actually fairly hard to see). This copy is not very large, approximately 4 by 6 inches, and sold at auction for $11,000 in 2007. […]
The Nipple Book
Medical interns supplied the breasts of deceased female patients to an English binder of erotica in the 19th century, with the breast skin used to bind copies of Justine et Juliette by Donatien Alphonse François, better known as the Marquis de Sade. In one extreme example, intact nipples are found on the front cover of copies of L’eloge des seins, The Praise of Breasts of Women, by 18th Century French satirist Claude-François-Xavier Mercier.

The History behind Anthropodermic Bibliopegy
Yummy!
This is a book bound in the flesh of William Burke, the notorious murderer. Between 1827 and 1828, Burke and his accomplice, William Hare, drugged and killed 16 people for the sole purpose of selling their bodies to the anatomist, Dr Robert Knox. During their murder trial, Hare turned King’s Evidence in exchange for immunity. Burke was eventually found guilty of the murders and hanged before [ironically] being dissected in Edinburgh Medical College.
The process of binding books using human flesh is known as ‘anthropodermic bibliopegy’. One of the earlier examples dates from the 17th century and currently resides in Langdell Law Library at Harvard University. It is a Spanish law book published in 1605. The colour of the binding is a ‘subdued yellow, with sporadic brown and black splotches like an old banana’. On the last page, there is an inscription which reads:
„The bynding of this booke is all that remains of my dear friende Jonas Wright, who was flayed alive by the Wavuma [possibly an African tribe from modern-day Zimbabwe, see [above] illustration] on the Fourth Day of August, 1632. King Mbesa did give me the book, it being one of poore Jonas chiefe possessions, together with ample of his skin to bynd it. Requiescat in pace.“

South Korean Death Beads

Der neueste Beerdigungs-Trend aus Südkorea: Perlen aus menschlicher Asche.
The ashes-to-beads process takes about two hours. In a corner of a massive room in an industrial area an hour outside Seoul, Bae keeps an altar to hold rites for the dead. He often leads the rites with family members present. “This is an important process, because I am announcing that I will take good care of the deceased and handle it with utmost care,” he said.
The ashes are ground inside a special machine into a finer powder, which is reheated and shaped into beads. “The color and density of the beads vary from person to person,” Bae said, adding that the finished colors range from coral and topaz to gray and black.
Jeon Gyeong-suk is one of Bae’s happy customers. Recently, she called him to express her appreciation for the beads. “I was so moved by how beautiful they were,” she said. “The pearly blue color calmed me.”
